I am right here. I am alive. Do you hear me!
cries out the beleaguered theater critic in Omar Sangare's aptly titled solo piece:

Omar Sangare presents  True Theatre Critic, an internationally acclaimed solo performance about a man suffering from exuberance of ambition. Dr. Sangare's powerful stage presence mixed with his ability to be at once grotesque and poetic draws us in for a tour de force evening. We begin with a man defeated who through his sorrow and anger finds sweet revenge in criticizing those who have rejected him time and again. As True Theater Critic comes to its crescendo we see his ironic sense of humor in his journey towards acceptance by those he once respected.

Omar Sangare is the author, the director and the performer of monodrama True Theater Critic. The play was presented in Poland, USA, Canada, Great Britain, Germany and Ukraine.

THE PLOT:
The performance tells about an unfortunate man suffering from exuberance of ambition. About somebody, who desperately wants to be considered a so called creator. Constant consciousness of not being fulfilled is his problem. This is the state that has dominated his life. His private life and his carrier life. His private life does not actually exist, it just passes by. At the beginning the Critic cannot define his own identity. He lives in emptiness.

His loneliness is not a choice, but rather a necessity. Continual disagreement on the conventional ways of communicating with the rest of the world isolates him from his environment. He goes to the extremes. He rebels against mediocrity of his surroundings. He accuses everyone of lack of understanding for his sensibility and his imagined artism. He considers himself to be better, born to do something outstanding. He acts this way constantly, no matter what his current occupation is. He was doing it as a playwright, than as an actor, director and finally, after another defeat, he does it as a critic.

The story told by Omar Sangare leads the character through different fields of creation. It shows, that the character does not fit in the world of arts. Characters sufferings and his unreciprocated love to the THEATER are really amusing in Omars' interpretation. The artist portraits the character in a really grotesque way - he puts the accent on characters' tragic desire to be somebody else, to get to the top
and to be remembered by future generations. So, he actually puts the accent on something that is inside any of us.

TECHNICAL INFORMATION:
The organizer should take care of preparing some things; a wooden table,
a wooden chair with empty back of a chair (not a folding one), a CD player with loudspeakers. It is needed for the end of the performance, when the voice from the CD is heard from behind the stage.
